Comment:

 I don't think we can make this happen without merging Sugar Shell and
 Network Manager applet in some way.  The Network Manager settings service
 provided by both are implemented entirely differently.

 So unless we have a developer willing to take on this task, it won't be
 happening.

 Dear future reader: if you are such a developer, please re-open this
 ticket and accept it.  ;-)
