 the attachment initramfsfixes.pat contains changes to eliminate bash-isms
 in the two 30-olpc-boot files.  i left some explanatory comments in there,
 which should be cleaned up a bit, i suppose.

 (and someone else should certainly read and understand what i did.  it
 wasn't much, but it's important code.)
