 2.6.31 has a different version of this code.  In particular, it avoids the
 routine entirely if no_console_suspend was issued, which it was.

 I can backport the patch, or we can take this as our cue to step up to
 2.6.31, which we are likely to need to do for the corbet camera driver
 anyway.  Deepak, what do you think?
