Sometimes I boot the XO-1.5 and what I see when I press F1 is a
*completely* blank screen (not even my icon, nor the toolbar). This is a
problem -- I am not being told what others my XO-1.5 is connected to.

Other times when I boot the XO-1.5 what I see when I press F1 is a bunch
of users connected to the Jabber server I have specified.

I do not have wireless (i.e., no AP). Sometimes when I boot the XO-1.5
and press F1, what I see is the other XOs on my local ethernet LAN. [I
presume the XO-1.5 did not manage to establish communication with the
 Jabber server.]

Sometimes when I boot the XO-1.5 and press F1, what I see is only the icon
for "me". [I presume the XO-1.5 did not manage to establish communication
with the other XOs on the local LAN -- although the XO-1.5 *can* access
the internet (to which the local LAN is connected).]
