 My feeling is that with os33 the flicker is less obtrusive than it was
 with os32.  With os33, when the Frame goes away, it seems to do so in
 several discrete steps - with each step  the visual effect is as though
 the inside edges (of Frame) were being pushed outwards and off the screen.
