 Within the limitations of the 8.2.1 codebase (old kernel, X, etc) we
 should collect the safe/sane fixes for touchpads.

 For ALPS, as proposed by pgf at
  http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Touchpad_driver_changes :

  - apply xset changes
  - apply kernel module patches
  - also: split off the kmod
