 note that bing's patch (which works, and put us in 1-bit mode all the
 time) sets an additional bit in SDIO_CCCR_IF.  he sets bit 5, which he
 calls "async_int_mode", but which in the spec seems to be "Enable
 Continuous SPI interrupt" (table 6-1, p. 29, of
