Comment:

 To add a bit more nuance: I don't like the pop-up either, and will be
 happy to see it gone.

 However, we need to update the activities after olpc-update has done its
 thing. sugar-shell/sugar-update-control need to know olpc-update has just
 performed an OS upgrade -- and the way to know that is the flag that olpc-
 configure sets. (That is what I was defending earlier...)

 We can and should make these activity updates transparent, specially for
 deployment machines. The popup is a fallback for G1G1/testers/etc...
