 I'm also unable to reproduce poor performance.  I agree we must know more
 about the circumstances or environment.

 === Test Result ===

 On os44 on XO-1.5 B2.

 Tested downloading a 60Mb file of random numbers over TCP, to /tmp, no
 wireless encryption.  Resultant rate were 1.06Mb/sec, 1.34Mb/sec,
 1.36Mb/sec.

 Tested uploading the same file, from /tmp.  Resultant rate were
 1.09Mb/sec, 0.77Mb/sec, and 1.55Mb/sec.

 The variation in the test results relates to the intrusion of a wireless
 network scan by NetworkManager.  Running the upload test again with
 NetworkManager disabled results in: 1.70Mb/sec, 1.55Mb/sec, 1.55Mb/sec and
 1.66Mb/sec.
