 I think the term "generic" applies specifically to 0.84.  [By the way, I
 wrote upstream ticket 1502 about this.  Also see upstream tickets 1241 and
 881.]

 There is a particular problem with Jukebox.  On my 0.86 system, other
 Activities (such as Image Viewer) *will* access (through the Object
 Chooser) the files on my "permanent" SD card.

 I notice that in os44, Object Chooser shows only an icon for Journal - but
 no icon for my SD card.  The way I remember it, in early XO-1.5 builds
 Object Chooser *would* show icons for removable storage devices (such as
 my SD card), if present.  In os8, the Object Chooser shows icons for
 removable storage devices.  Such icons not being shown by os44 is a
 regression.
