New description:

skype isn't "supported" s/w, but this may indicate a system configuration
problem. installed the .rpm available from skype.com (along with all its
QT dependencies). using the "test call" feature, audio output works fine,
but microphone input does not. tried other device selections in the
driver configuration dropdown, but didn't help.

 this was probably on os41, w/ q3a16, on a fully ECO'd B2.
