 Problem: when os40.img.gz is placed on USB, and booted, the shallow-copy
 is not performed, and init cannot be found (since /sbin/ doesn't exist).

 Diagnosis: this is probably caused by is_partitioned() in pre-pivot
 /10olpc-boot-prepivot.sh which checks only for root devices ending in
 p[0-9].

 (This is only one of the issues raised by ticket #9681)
