Comment:

The problem has a wider scope than just distinguishing between the two SD
slots in the XO-1.5 machine. Users will also want to sometimes boot from
additional devices (e.g., USB sticks; perhaps external storage devices).

A problem I've had off and on (and am *still* having) is the boot process
__stalling__ with the message: "failure to mount root filesystem". As
soon as you talk about "boot scripts", PLEASE make sure that the intended
device having the 'root filesystem' is acceptable to the loading process.

[For another example of what can go wrong, yesterday I installed with
'rpm' a new kernel on an XO1. The subsequent boot process crashed with a
message about "invalid initramfs" -- but that kernel package was
distributed without any content that looked like an initramfs. Go
 figure.]
