 Method: set one XO to play an audio track, place side by side to another
 one set to record audio, attach headphones to recording XO, with and
 without a Behringer XM8500 microphone attached to the microphone input
 socket.

 Result: successful switching between input sources, roughly 0.1 to 0.5
 second gap in recorded audio when switching, switching includes a low
 frequency pulse, microphone LED extinguished when on external source, 50Hz
 hum captured by external microphone whenever recording XO had power supply
 attached.

 Diagnosis: microphone input detection works.
