 Yes, sure.  The dmesg lines you refer to do not appear.  I'm triggering
 the suspend from vt2, after logging in.  The pid of my shell does not
 change.  The pid of the agetty on ttyS0 does not change.

 Are you triggering the suspend using 'echo mem > /sys/power/state' and are
 you doing this exclusively from the serial port or the keyboard?

 If you are doing it from the serial port, could you try instead:

 {{{
 sleep 6 ; echo mem > /sys/power/state ; sleep 6
 }}}

 And see if that works around the death of the shell?  I'm wondering
 whether the shell prompt or output may interfere.

 (I've no serial port enabled B2 as far as I know).
