I think we should stay with olpc-update for now. We know that it works,
the deployments know how it works, and it would not take long to get it up
and running again for the F11 build.
Switching to RPMs brings in various new questions, we'd have to
write/rewrite some utilities, and produce a load of new documentation. It
would be nice to switch in future, but in the interests of getting
someting going I think it makes sense to stay with olpc-update for now.
Also Martin made a really good point in the discussion on devel/fedora-
olpc-devel/fedora-devel ("update mechanism for new releases")... olpc-
update is really nice in that it can fail halfway, and resume next time
without problem, you're never going to have an unbootable system. I
imagine that this is really important for deployments.
