 We only have 796mb of RAM available, as is normal for a default-configured
 kernel on x86. You either need to adjust the vm split, or enable highmem.
 The former is the best option.

 Enabling CONFIG_VMSPLIT_3G_OPT=y causes a kernel hang during boot though.
 Last line:

 initializing
 The framebuffer is at least partially initialized as I can see text on
 screen.
