 Unfortunately the Linux generic HDA parser is quite basic, largely in part
 because almost all of the manufacturers get this BIOS info wrong - by not
 providing this information, we're following an industry standard ;)

 Also, I wonder if this part of the HDA specification would be able to
 encode the information about our analog sensor inputs.

 I agree that this would be the right way to go but it is probably not a
 realistic solution given our time pressures.
