 For Sucrose 0.83.4 the datastore format has changed as described in
  http://sugarlabs.org/go/DevelopmentTeam/DatastoreRewrite

 We need to at least

  - teach ds-backup-client to skip 'index'
  - teach ds-backup-server to read the new metadata
  - figure out how to handle mixed clients :-/
