 A message from a translator:

"I tried registering as a translator by going to
http://dev.laptop.org/translate and selecting the Register link. After
filling out the form when I click the [Register Account] link, I get the
 following error

'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0xc3 in position 4: ordinal not in
 range(128)"

I then asked him to use standard ASCII characters in his username and
 password and he said:

 "I tried these usernames

 usename: sarangaravamuthan
 password: sarang
 Full name: Sarang Aravamuthan
 email: sarang.aravamuthan at gmail.com

 usename: sarang0223
 password: sarang
 Full name: Sarang Ara
 email: sarang.aravamuthan at gmail.com

In both cases, I got the same "codec" error. I tried on both Firefox and
IE and the error is same in both browsers.

Then I used a colleague's login (username: swarnasras, password:
calculus). When I tried setting user options (Step 2 in
 http://info.scratch.mit.edu/Translation/Translating_Scratch) and set Tamil
as the language and clicked the [Save changes] button, I got the "codec"
 error again."
