Comment(by Quozl):

 Completed 11 cycles on four XO-1.5 B2 os57 q3a20 (two with serial ports
 unconnected, two without ... two with SD PWR ECO, two without).

 Test sequence was sequence "wait for dim screen and idle suspend then wake
 with touchpad".

 Test result: no hang seen.

 Allowed all four units to suspend and turn off backlight.

 Resumed the test cycling using touchpad to wake. One cycle passed without
 incident. On the second cycle, unit SHC93701699 was affected by the
 symptom.

 When the symptom affects a unit, it can be allowed to return to suspend,
 but then as Wad says pressing the power button to wake it up gives a short
 burst of screen backlight, then when the backlight is off the power LED
 remains on, but no keys wake the backlight. After a while it suspends
 again.

 This particular unit was returned to normal operation by removing the
 battery and reinserting it. (To read the serial number).

 My gut feel is that this might be ohmd state confusion caused by an event
 race.
