 An XO-1.5 B2 with q3a18 and os50 was configured to disable ''automatic
 power management'' using the checkbox in the ''power'' icon of the ''my
 settings'' dialog.

 Then an ''olpc-update'' to os51 was completed, and the unit rebooted.

 What goes wrong: idle dim and suspend occurs, despite the checkbox
 remaining off.

 What should happen: the behaviour should match the checkbox.

 Workaround: turn on and then turn off the checkbox.

 Symptom discovered based on Sandy's observations in #9744.
