Comment:

 Tested on XO-1 build 802 and build os8, an external USB keyboard does not
 wake from suspend, and power to the keyboard and other USB devices is cut
 during suspend, so there would be no way to respond.  Tested both explicit
 suspend with power button, and idle suspend.

 The automatic power management feature is designed to interrupt any
 operation such as yum that is not requiring user interaction.  It seems to
 be working fine.

 You should turn off the feature or keep the system awake by other means if
 you want to complete a yum operation in a timely fashion.
