I connect to the internet through ethernet. Did my initial 'yum check-
update' after installing os49. While yum was fetching the indexes from
the repositories, the XO-1.5 first dimmed, then suspended. Had to press
the power button to allow the fetching of repository information to
 resume.

Next, after excessively short intervals the XO-1.5 would dim again --
surely running 'yum check-update' is not something "unusual", for whose
completion the user first needs to disable 'suspend'. But what upset me
was that to let 'yum check-update' not be suspended (after the XO-1.5 had
dimmed), I had to press a key on the XO-1.5 keyboard -- pressing a key on
my external USB keyboard did NOT "undim" the os49 XO-1.5. Not paying
attention to the external USB keyboard is a regression from "how to avoid
 suspend" on the XO-1.
