 Couple of bugs at play here.

 Firstly when you press " it causes the text-selected signal to be emitted
 from AbiWidget ??
 can't reproduce this in a simple pyabiword testcase.

 When text is selected, write attempts to change tab to the Text toolbar.
 this steals the focus from the document area, but the code then calls
 grab_focus on the AbiWidget. This doesn't work any more but it worked in
 8.2. all of my F11 setups behave differently here.

 You can also reproduce this issue by selecting text then attempting to
 overwrite it by typing. The typing doesn't have any effect as the wrong
 component has focus.

 A libabiword fix would be preferable as there is no room in the Write
 version namespace for a new release of the Write activity.
