Comment(by sunrise1):

 Rebooted and verified that "hexdump /dev/random" does not stall after rngd
 is running on reboot. In fact, it wakes up rngd periodically to dump more
 randomness in, as long as you keep running[http://www.tagnice.com  nike
 air yeezy shoes] the hexdump; and when you stop it, rngd goes back to
 snoozing (taking 212k resident ram, of which only 48k is dirty and thus
 can't be discarded under memory pressure).
