 On an XO-1.5 A2 prototype, I tried to reprogram the SPI Flash with
 q3a08.rom using flash.  The programming occured with no errors, but on
 reboot the machine was bricked.  The EC booted but OFW didn't boot.

 I suspect that the USB key had an invalid q3a08.rom image (it was removed
 early from the download laptop), but there were no verify errors.

 The SPI ROM was desoldered, and a new SPI Flash ROM with q3a08.rom
 preinstalled was soldered into place.  The laptop runs fine (Pre-
 production, so no manufacturing data!)

 The old ROM is sitting near the device programmer (blue dot), if further
 information is desired...
