This afternoon, after repeated problems with testing conectivity, we
checked the spectrum with a spectrum analyzer. Channel 1 was completely
hosed, showing continuous transmissions (carrier suppressed). There was
no break in time between packets, as is normally noticed (and was noticed
 on channels 6 and 11).

We turned off all XO laptops at 1CC, and the problem disappeared.
(It had not disappeared after turning off half of the laptops.) We then
proceeded to turn most of them back on, and the problem did not reappear.

This is a disturbing discovery, as most of the laptops at 1CC were in use
by the testing group, connected to school servers on channels 6 and 11.

Perhaps a WLAN device was in a state where it was transmitting
continuously ? Most laptops were running build 765, with some running
older builds (specifically 763). One machine was found running build 708.
