 I see this bug in 763.  The issue appears slightly different than
 described above in the bug report.  In particular, it is possible for the
 pictures taken in Record to show up in the Journal; but in order for this
 to happen the user must navigate away from the Record activity window.
 Then the photos are properly saved.  As erikb notes write_file is called
 whenever we navigate away from the Record window.  The problem is that
 write_file isn't being hit on close.
