Comment:

 The Control Panel behavior causes problems when trying to "concurrently"
 launch an Activity.  Was using 'Software Update', had done some updates,
 but intended to do more.  First I wanted to check if the content of
 /home/olpc/Activities had been properly updated -- for that I needed to
 launch Terminal.  But I could not access Home View (from which Activities
 are launched) because the Control Panel was in the way.

 I could get to Journal, and luckily I saw an entry there from which I was
 able to launch Terminal.  But if Journal had not had an entry for the
 Activity I wanted, I would have had to give up on 'Software Update', and
 close Control Panel, in order to *launch* an Activity.
