Comment:

 I think a minimal patch which just *defocused* the search box on the
 favorites view would help a lot.  Are there other views where this might
 help -- the control panel might be one, but I don't recall seeing anyone
 every complaining about search there (although I've had the 'accidental
 search' problem there as well).

 I'll see if I can prepare a one-line patch which does this.
