 I had this problem in development versions of SimCity (sound didn't work).
 When I removed /etc/olpc-security to disable Rainbow, sound started
 working.

 (The stock SimCity-4.xo doesn't produce sound because of thread problems
 caused by old changes in Sugar.  I'm trying to make a working SimCity-5.xo
 but its sound doesn't work yet.)
