 I can still reproduce this on after upgrading a 8.2-756 with this issue to
 8.2-760.

 This may not be related, but I'll note it none the less. Immediately after
 the update, I noticed that Software Update failed to update browser,
 gmail, and turtleart. When updating browse it silently fails, and
 continues to appear on the update list. When attempting to update the
 others, X crashes and restarts.

 Executed following from command line:

 {{{

 # find . -name compreg.dat -print
 }}}

 still gives:

 }}}

  * started browse activity

  * waited for page to load
  * clicked on Browse-98.xo

 nothing happened.
