 The format is something called restructured text.  It is the most common
 markup currently used by professional python api writers.

 As for the self parameter, I can pull those out.  In the link above, there
 is a combo button titled review status.  The doc string has several more
 levels of review to go through before being finally approved.

 Hopefully, I and others will start hacking on the wiki.  Whenever a good
 sized chuck of documentation has been written, I will submitted a patch.

 I'll remove the self parameters and resubmit.
