Comment:

 None of the problems reported in this bug have been addressed (before it
 was closed, or in the intervening year).  The bug (and the one it points
 to, #1146) were merely closed by the developers to sweep the problem under
 the rug.

 OLPC still needs a high quality GUI, and needs to stop wasting the efforts
 of talented programmers on reinventing wheels that have already been done
 six times over.  (Like picking which wireless interface to enable -- or
 having and organizing a set of program icons to run -- or switching
 between already-running programs).

 OLPC's focus on collaboration would get a big boost if it could stop
 messing with the GUI and actually make the collab interface work.  It's
 been broken for weeks in 8.2.0 (#8281, #7462, #7417, ...).
