 That was a near miss...  I launched Browse-96 and soon saw "the slows", to
 the point of unusability. I went to ctrl-alt-mesh console and copied
 /var/log/messages into /home/olpc/ for safe-keeping.  Then I exited Browse
 using alt-esc and eventually got back here.  The slows are gone now, and
 this Firefox-6 is running okay, as it has been for almost 2 whole days now
 (I keep my G1G1 XO on nearly 24/7 aside from crashes).

 I have to disappear for a half-day now, so cannot retest Browse right now.
 And I want to see if Firefox stays stable after the near miss.
