 When running the graphical software update from the control panel on
 8.2-759 the initial 'Checking for updates' hangs on the checking of
 Colors!. The only way out is to cancel the update.
 Note that I have added the Activities/Joyride group on my 8.2-759 system.
 Running in terminal 'sugar-control-panel -g available_updates' shows why:
 it gives the message:
 sugar-control-panel: <urlopen error (111, 'Connection refused')>
 Checking directly on the wiki gives a similar error on the url for
 Colors-4.xo (http://www.wadeb.com/Colors-4.xo); Connection interrupted on
 Firefox-3.

 It seems the available updates check needs to be more error tolerant for
 (temporarily) non functioning urls.
