 I don't think the Arabic locale is relevant.  I've seen X crashes during
 update as well, but never been able to either reproduce it or get any log
 information which would help me diagnose it.

 *Except* I think the debian packaging of sugar does this (crashes) on
 every update.  I always assumed this was because the debian packages were
 out of date, but I think they've been updated recently.  That might be a
 new angle along which to investigate these crashes.
