> I remain in opposition with this ticket conditionally: As long as the
Journal appears where it does and as it does, I think we need to continue
to treat it as an activity. If another proposal arises which meaningfully
differentiates the Journal in a manner consistent with the system and its
use, I'm happy to reconsider how it's portrayed. I'm changing the title
to reflect this.
I realize it's quite low priority, but I'd like some more detail on what
you mean by "meaningfully differentiat[ing]" the Journal. It appears
right next to the Neighborhood/Friends/Home view icons, and has its own
key like the N/F/H views do. I can think of two ways it's "like an
activity" now (besides the fact one can Alt-Tab to it):
1. It's next to the activity icons in the Frame
1. It appears below the XO-man icon in the Home view
I think:
1. ...but it appears next to the Neighborhood/Friends/Home views, too
1. If it's not an activity then it shouldn't.
...and would suggest:
1. a vertical separator, gap/space, or new icon (like the N/F/H views': a
circular background with the Journal notebook in the foreground, perhaps)
would differentiate the icon from activity icons
1. remove the journal from below the XO-man
...and am happy to do the work, but I think we're talking around the
issue:
* Is the Journal an "activity" (Fructose) or not (and, rather, an
inseparable part of Glucose; perhaps it's another Zoom level - zoom in
from the Home view to the Journal view - the Journal/files are part of the
Home/XO-man...)
I am neither empowered nor qualified to authoritatively answer this.
If there's a simple answer I'd love to know it.
