Comment:

This is still, in my mind, a serious 'blocker' bug, in 8.2-759 on my G1G1
 XO.

To reproduce, just keep opening and using activities until the XO hangs.
If you are lucky it first gets noticeably slower, then you can maybe exit
a few activities and recover by yourself. If you are unlucky, the freeze
happens quickly and there is nothing much you can do except wait for many
hours for it to sometimes recover by itself (it kills some activities by
itself), or use the long Power button press to reboot.

I have never seen any message that effectively says, "Not enough memory
(or whatever) to open any more activities." The dreaded "slows" is not a
good default substitute for such a message. A child's computer must be
responsive above all else, especially above ability to run multiple
simultaneous activities. Maybe limit number of open activities to maximum
of 2 or 3 (plus Journal).

There are other open tickets relating to this bug. The diverse symptoms of
an overloaded XO make it difficult to identify the root cause and write up
 nice clean Trac tickets.
