 willing to hold 8.2 for up to one week in order to search for a good
 resolution for this bug if it proves to be reproducible.

 Got this right "in action". Started typing text into Write in one of the
 "invited" (not "inviting"!) laptops, immediately Write disappeared in both
 "invited" laptops. Collected lig files that include Telepathy log info.
 The laptops are still sitting on a mesh.
