Comment:

 I tested the code path through activity installation from the journal.

 The updater seem to be screwed to me (it hangs when fetching info about
 the journal), so I can't test that. I'll reassign to qa after this is in
 8.2, because I think we should verify the upgrades we care about, as
 suggested by Kim.
