In build 8.2-757 (and some earlier builds), with Advanced Power Management
checkmarked on, the backlight dims when auto-suspend goes into suspend
mode after about a minute of no user input. I find this unrequested
change of the backlight to be irritating and unergonomic. I immediately
finger the touchpad to re-brighten the screen so I can continue reading.
That probably wakes up the CPU and burns joules unnecessarily.

So please review the merits of auto-suspend messing with the backlight. I
am okay with a 20-minute delay screensaver, but one minute is way too
 short. I am a slow reader/thinker.
