Comment:

 I tried this in 8.2-757 with Browse-95 and Write-57, using large JPEG and
 PNG images available at http://wheelstick.com/wisdom/

 The PNG images copied/pasted okay from Browse to Write.

 The JPEG images were corrupted, apparently during the right-click Copy
 operation in Browse, as can be seen by viewing the clipboard object in the
 Journal (after doing a Keep of the clipboard object in the Frame).

 Screenshots attached.  Both hand images should be identical, with no black
 rectangle.
