 The way Etoys is started causes translation to work or fail.

 When I double-click the Etoys app, it works fine, it switches
 automatically to the system language (German in my case). Dropping a
 German project into that image works fine, it stays German, and the
 language can be switched via the menu button later

 However, when launching Etoys by double-clicking a project, the project is
 translated to English (even though it was saved in German). Switching
 manually to German later does not switch scriptors etc. (though, weirdly
 enough, user text is translated)

 Witnessed on a Mac.
