Comment:
From the logs, the cpu is quite free but most memory seem to be used. So I
think it's the kernel bug that slows everything down so much that it takes
a long time to get to OOM. This is how most memory is being used:
Sugar shell:
olpc 1291 15.5 21.5 71172 50824 ? S Oct17 698:32 |
\_ python /usr/bin/sugar-shell
Three activities:
10000 1442 0.2 15.6 67912 36860 ? S Oct17 10:15 \_
python /usr/sbin/rainbow-daemon
10002 1453 0.0 9.3 43396 22076 ? S Oct17 0:32 \_
python /usr/sbin/rainbow-daemon
10004 1464 0.0 18.2 86924 42908 ? Sl Oct17 0:34 \_
python /usr/sbin/rainbow-daemon
Three services:
olpc 1311 0.0 3.5 15388 8368 ? S Oct17 0:32 python
/usr/bin/sugar-presence-service
olpc 1315 0.0 2.6 11504 6292 ? S Oct17 0:36 python
/usr/bin/sugar-shell-service
olpc 1319 0.0 4.3 38592 10320 ? Rl Oct17 0:04 python
/usr/bin/datastore-service
Journal:
olpc 1330 0.0 9.8 43508 23240 ? R Oct17 0:34 python
/usr/bin/sugar-activity journalactivity.JournalActivity -b
org.laptop.JournalActivity -a 38107e5e9fc8c58743bb93f90e568ee5f7caa6fc
So the slowness is just a red herring and the real issue is that the
system is short of memory.
Is 8.2 supposed to support so many big activities at the same time?
