 {{{
 (12:07:15 PM) bemasc: Hey, I'm working on OLPC stuff, and I realized that
 the OLPC XO's HAL is not configured well
 (12:07:26 PM) bemasc: for example, system.hardware.version and
 system.hardware.vendor are not set
 ...
 (04:43:33 PM) sjoerd: apparently nobody bothered to patch hal to get the
 necessary info for olpc
 (04:43:38 PM) sjoerd: depends on the platform
 ...
 (04:53:23 PM) sjoerd: osspec_probe in hald/linux/osspec is probably a good
 place to start
 (04:54:40 PM) sjoerd: from there it calls the bits that get the dmi date
 from sysfs or dmidecode
 (04:54:59 PM) sjoerd: so you need to add an alternative to get it from
 olpc specific sources if they exist and of you go ;)
 }}}

 Is there any documentation for this stuff? I poked around in /ofw but
 couldn't find anything that describes the machine as an "XO" or "XO-1"...
