Comment:

 This bug appeared in 8.2-767. Tried to download a PDF file in a browser,
 to be displayed in Read.

 The screen became white, with a coursor still moving, then the coursor
 disappeared and the laptop became completely frozen. By Michael's advice
 left the machine alone, and in ~ 45 minutes it came back alive, with Read
 showing the content of the PDF file. Actually, there were 3 Reads running,
 all showing the content of the same file.

 The log file is attached.
