Comment:

I've recently noticed that bug too, at least with the releases of 8.2.
I've asked for help on the Sugar list this week-end
 (http://lists.laptop.org/pipermail/sugar/2008-October/008867.html). I have
to conduct more tests, but it seems to happen only when the clock uses the
SVG background (the default in version 3).

Since I'm still learning Pygtk, I'm not sure my Clock will be optimized
for 8.2.0. bemasc, if you can teach me how to make it more efficient, I'm
ready to learn. The information on the Web on how to use SVG with Python
 is either scarce or obsolete.
