Comment:

 The first one seems right to me.

 I am not entirely happy with the second one (mostly because of code
 further down in the engine). I would prefere replacing it with:
 {{{
 if (arrow_type == 4) { /* GTK_ARROW_NONE */
 }}}
 or similar. In general old engines can be used with newer GTK+ versions
 (not in the case of GTK+ 2.10 though).
